Q. How do I get started with the Ecommerce Solution?

A.  First you will have to get a 1stcom account, which gives you access to our Ushop Web Store.

Q. How much is the application fee through 1stCommerce for an Internet Merchant Account?

$150.00  

Q. If I have my own merchant account will it work with 1stcom's Gateway?

A.  No, only a 1st Commerce merchant account will work with 1stcom's Gateway.

Q. What is the minimum amount the merchant account will cost each month?

A.  $35.00. If you have no sales during the month, you pay a $25.00 Minimum Transaction Charge and a $10.00 Monthly Customer Service Fee. If you make sales during the month (let's use $1500.00 as an example), you will pay $46.75.
  Example: 10 sales x 100.00 per sale = 1000.00 x 2.25% + .30 per transaction = 25.50 ($.50 over the $25 Minimum Transaction Charge). The cost for this example month's sales would be $35.50 ( 25.50 Transaction Charge + 10.00 Monthly Customer Service Fee = $35.50).

Q. Can retailers "not process" orders if they think the order is bad, without charging their customer's credit card?

A.  When the orders come into the retailer's mailbox, then the retailer looks at the order, and makes a decision to ship the order or to delete the order. If the retailer deletes the order then the gateway does not get the order, and therefore the customers card does not get charged.

Q. When my customers go to the checkout what happens to their order from there?

A.  When they go to the check out, their order will be transferred to the 1st Commerce secure server.  There, the customer will enter their billing information.

Q. Can sales tax be added?

A.Sales tax: Your shop can be configured to automatically add sales tax to orders placed from a given state. Please select the state where you wish to charge Sales Tax, and the enter current tax rate below. You may select no tax by leaving the state blank or by setting the tax rate to zero. You may also specify individual items in your inventory that are not subject to sales tax.

Q. What if I have problems with my email program and encrypted messages?

A.  Go to http://search.nai.com/mediasearch/ do a search for plugin's and download the plug in for your email program.

Q. What if the different shipping costs are not available in the shipping options?

You have the ability to create up to 11 types of shipping when you install the Ushop software. The newest release does support multiple shipping options.

Q. What is the 1stcom Ecommerce Solution?

A.  The 1stcom Ecommerce Solution coordinates the transfer of funds between a customers bank, a payment processing service, and your bank.  If the transaction is approved, funds usually are transferred to your bank account (merchant) within 36 to 72 hours.

Q. What exactly is UShop?

A.  UShop is a shopping cart/webstore/catalogue builder  that turns your web site into a web store with full electronic commerce capability.

Q. How long will it take me to get Ushop installed?

A.  Installation of Ultra Shop should not take more than 10 minutes to install.

Q. How long does it take to setup a merchant account with 1st Commerce?

A.  A Merchant account takes 7-14 business days to setup.  For more details, visit 1st Commerce

Q. What happens to the order after it is submitted?

A.  The checkout program then emails a copy of the order to the customer as a confirmation that the order was sent.

Q. Is there a way I can configure the new online store to use my secured server as a default server?

A.  No, the check out requires our checkout code which we do not give out, and our licensed copy of PGP5 for linux, which we do not give out for obvious reasons.

Q. What if I want to feature an item that is way down in my Inventory Sheet?

A. One way to get your customers to the specific item will be to, for example, "FP-98 professional edition", then in the name field, use an HTML NAME tag in the "Item  Name" field.
